About the Centre for the Governance of AI (GovAI): The Centre for the Governance of AI (GovAI) is a London-based nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing the challenges posed by advanced artificial intelligence. Founded in 2018 at the University of Oxford, GovAI became an independent research institute in 2021. Its mission is to build a global research community committed to helping humanity navigate the transition to a world with advanced AI.
About the Fellowship: The GovAI Fellowship offers a unique opportunity for early-career professionals or individuals transitioning into the field of AI governance. Over the course of three months, fellows will undertake a research project, deepen their understanding of AI governance, and engage with a network of leading researchers and practitioners. Ideal candidates are those seriously considering a long-term career focused on studying or shaping the long-term impacts of advanced AI.
2. Google Data Center Community AI Fellowship 2025

Watson Institute: The Watson Institute is a global nonprofit that partners with tech giants like Google to empower purpose-driven leaders in underserved communities. Their initiatives focus on leveraging AI and technology to create meaningful social, economic, and environmental impact.
Google Data Center Community AI Fellowship: The Google Data Center Community AI Fellowship is a 16-week, fully funded initiative by Google and the Watson Institute. It equips local leaders with training in AI application, ethical workshops, mentorship, and project implementation grants. Participants engage in virtual immersive kickoff and weekly sessions to develop and deploy AI-driven solutions within their communities, driving social impact and leadership growth across Data Center regions.
3. HARNESS DC2 PhD – Trinity College Dublin (Adapt Centre)
📅 Duration: 3 years (start date unspecified, apply by 31 July 2025, 23:59 CET)
📍 Location: Trinity College Dublin, Dublin, Ireland (with secondments to Ghent University, SIGNATU, and potentially the Joint Research Centre)

Doctoral Candidate in Taxonomy of Actors, Rights and Obligations across AI and Data Regulations: This PhD studentship invites two candidates to explore governance frameworks mapping stakeholders, rights, and duties under AI and data laws at Trinity College Dublin. Over three years, scholars will benefit from expert supervision, structured training, and secondments while contributing to EU‑aligned policy research.
