As with anything but especially medical AI needs to be checked and rechecked before any medical life alliterating decision is made. If there was a medical lawsuit then having AI in the mix would definitely make an already complicated situation even more so.

You raise an important point Natalie. In medicine, every diagnostic or treatment tool, including AI, ought to be subjected to strict checks and human oversight. Clinical safety depends on validating AI outputs against professional standards, especially when outcomes may affect human lives. There should be zero room for error.

From a legal perspective, introducing AI does add complexity, especially around responsibility, consent, and to an extent explainability. If litigation arises, the presence of AI can complicate questions of liability, data use, and standard of care.
